I’m running today–have to sign stock later this afternoon and finish the CEM portion of this round of edits, so I leave you with a picture I took that pleased me (I was setting up for breakfast):

This is my maybe-not-so-successful attempt to start doing photography a bit more often and seriously. I also scheduled a road trip at the end of the month to go take some landscapes etc up north.
I’m a firm believer that every creative professional needs at least one hobby that has nothing to do with their professional life. Mine’s purty pictures. What’s yours?
Current Music: Rufus Wainwright - Hallelujah
I write speculative fiction, including but not limited to books about mages, werewolves, superheroes, steampunk monsters, fairies and demons. I have partially purple hair, collect comic books, do pinup modeling and photography in my copious spare time, and keep the music up way too loud.
I do stained glass. My next project is one for my sister’s dining room window of a dragonfly amongst the flowers.
if you get a chance take a trip to Moab Utah, its a very cool little town surrounded by Arches National Park, Canyonlands NP, and the Colorado River, rich photo ops. Plus there are very cool shops and great places to eat there.
Hi
Mine is photography also. I get a rush from taking a great picture.
Thanks for sharing.

I love to play old Might & Magic 6,7,8 & 9 are my favorites. I also like to write and read excellent books.
Purty pit-chers, collaging/painting/sketching, reading, taking in museum and/or art exhibits…basically, anything cerebral. Oh & spending time with my nieces and nephew.
I like your choice in flatware.
Any how, my hobby; I enjoy playing Warhammer. Its great. I pick an army, paint the figures after putting them together. Load up my army in the clear craft box, and head to the gaming store. Tables lined with guys, who spend all their extra cash on cards or figures, itching to test out their strategic maneuvering against one another. Their always surprised when a girl shows up. Even more surprised when she kicks their ass.
Besides that, I guess I like to draw & paint. I’m not very good at it, but I still like it. It keeps my creative juices loosened up. That way, when I have to sit down and make my self edit through another chapter I wrote, it’s not so bad. ‘I had fun, I enjoyed it, and now it’s time to focus’ I tell myself.
What do you do to keep your mind focused? For me, writing is the easy part. Its getting my cynical mind to re-read what I wrote and be satisfied that’s hard.
