I feel dirty.

Did I get your attention? Heehee.

I cleaned out my storage closet and hauled a bunch of crap to Goodwill, hence the dirtiness. Sorry to lure you in under false pretenses there…

It seems I have a nemesis. There’s this one clerk at the post office, who I refer to as Disapproving Korean Guy. There’s also Fatherly Black Guy, Cool Indian Guy and White Guy in the Back, but they’re actually pretty nice for postal employees. Disapproving Korean Guy hates me. And I always get his window when there’s a line of people. We’ve had our little spats for over a year, and today when I went in there to find out why the USPS was still forwarding my mail, he said “Calm down and speak slowly.” Before even “Hello” or “May I help you” or “By god, I am going to whip out an assault rifle and mow down all of you motherfuckers”. Calm down and speak slowly. Then he fobbed me and my womanly hysterics off on White Guy without another word. Disapproving Korean Guy is so on notice.

Alrighty, Norwescon. There were book signings, panels, furries, what you’d expect. If you want pictures, you can check out Richelle’s blog, because I didn’t take any. I meant to, and I brought my camera, but I just never got around to it amid panels about shapeshifters and sitting next to Dan Simmons (who I’m convinced now thinks I’m an asshole, but that’s a whole other blog post.) Basically, after three months away, it was really nice to be home and to see my writer buddies, and meet new ones. Nothing spectacular, nothing bad, just an unusually high quotient of Imperial troops standing in line at Starbucks.

If you didn’t make it to Norwescon, you can come to the UBookstore signing on Thursday. Me, Mark Henry, zombies, fake British accents and a whole lot of urban fantasy wrongness. It’ll be awesome.

One final note: Trader Joe’s burritos taste like low-fat carboard, but man are they filling. My booty may be saved.

I thought you did fine next to Dan Simmons on that short story panel. Which was itself a FUBAR of epic proportions, though we managed to pull it out…

  2. Hi i love your books and I was just wondering if you could give me your address because I’m doing a project for my keyboarding and business skills class. Thank You so much
