I finished the proposal outline for Bleak Machines, my (takes breath) Victorian steampunk Lovecraftian fantasy adventure novel, while waiting for the cab to come and take all of us to the Pittsburgh airport. I now have two adult urban/dark fantasy novels ready to go, should some miracle editor fall down from the sky and ask me for a proposal, PLUS Death Wish as an option for my current publisher when/if they ask. Yes, it’s only 63,000 words, but they’re 63,000 words that mostly don’t suck, so I plan on revising that one once I’m done revising Iron & Ice.
For my own edification as much as yours, here’s what my remaining projects for the year are (at least the ones I’ve committed to):
- Finish Witch Craft
- Write “Ashes to Ashes”, aka the demon huntress novella
- Write Spell Bound
- Revise Iron & Ice
- Write Conjure Man
- Revise Death Wish
- ???
- Profit.

And I’m writing again. It’s ass-kicking time, dudes. I screwed around all week at RT and now I have to produce 3,000 words a day if I want to complete this book by 10 May and meet my goal of clearing all of my deadlines by 1 October.
Here’s where we stand:
Witch Craft (Nocturne City, Book 4)
I write speculative fiction, including but not limited to books about mages, werewolves, superheroes, steampunk monsters, fairies and demons. I have partially purple hair, collect comic books, do pinup modeling and photography in my copious spare time, and keep the music up way too loud.
Oooh. Bleak Machines sounds interesting… Good luck on the rest of the lot!
